Due to a recent South Dakota court ruling, all Voluntary Credit Sale contracts (DP, Deferred Pay, Basis), the South Dakota Public Utilities Commission Warehouse Division has notified Fremar LLC and Central Farmers Cooperative that all Voluntary Credit Sales Contracts must be signed within 30 days of final delivery. If Fremar LLC or Central Farmers does not receive the signed contract at our elevator within 30 days, the bushels on these contracts must be cashed out at the closing price on that date and the check will be mailed to the producer.

Please be advised that our Grain Handling facility in Freeman will be closed for approximately 3 months starting May 6th. The wooden cribbed elevator’s condition is beyond repair and we will be tearing it down starting the 6th of May. The wooden elevator will be replaced with an outside receiving leg and conveyor, along with two overhead load-out bins.
Please make plans accordingly as the facility will need to be closed for construction. Completion date is scheduled for Sept 10th to enable us to reopen prior to harvest.
Thank you for your continued support and patience during the construction.

Central Farmers Co-op Annual Meeting
The 5nd annual meeting of Central Farmers Cooperative was held January 21, 2013 at the St. Peter and Paul Catholic Parish Hall in Dimock. Board President, Dennis Koerner, declared a quorum and called the meeting to order. After the notice of meeting and the last annual meeting minutes were read by Board Secretary, Doug Schoenfelder, Greg Cargin, auditor from Gardner Thompson, presented the financial report. Greg stated that this local co-op has a very strong balance sheet as a result of continued good earnings.
VP Jim Wahle then announced the reelection of directors Gerald Schmeichel and Kevin Peterson from the north district and Dennis Koerner and Wendell Weeldreyer from the south district.
The manager’s report by Steve Domm was then presented. He reported that the coop is becoming more efficient each year and is very well capitalized. It was reported that the board of directors authorized the redemption of $605,361 of allocated equity to customers over 70 years of age plus equity earned up through 1997. In addition, $663,185 of cash patronage was paid out for a total of $1,272,545 returned to the patrons. Besides returning equity, he also emphasized that the coop continues to look for ways to invest in people and facilities to increase the service to its current and new patrons. He then gave a report on each division of the company- grain, agronomy, feed and energy. In his closing remarks, Steve stated that the top priority of management and the directors is to protect the patron’s equity and maintain an investment grade balance sheet.
Dennis Koerner then gave his closing remarks and thanked all the patrons for their business.
