This page is designated and designed to give the most up-to-date information regarding Central Farmers/FREMAR LLC's most recent project, a shuttle loader elevator to be located in Lyons, SD. At this point in time, we project the elevator will be ready for the 2012 harvest. Until that time, we would like to give our current and potential producers the tools and resources to learn about CFC/FREMAR LLC, our operations, policies and progress. Please see below for direct links to several valuable tools to assist our patrons.
FREMAR LLC is a joint venture between Central Farmers Cooperative, a South Dakota Cooperative, and Archer Daniels Midland (ADM), each having equal ownership of 50%. The joint venture was formed to take advantage of the strengths of a locally owned and controlled cooperative with the benefits of an international agricultural leader in the industry.
FREMAR LLC is controlled by a four member Board of Directors. The board is comprised of two representatives from ADM-Benson-Quinn Co. and two representatives from Central Farmers Coop Board of Directors. The CFC representatives include the President of the CFC Board and one other director voted on annually by Central Farmers Coop Board of Directors.
The need for such an arrangement arose in order for Central Farmers Cooperative to remain a competitive force in the grain and agronomy industry. Having accessibility to ADM domestic processing plants, export facilities, transportation department and marketing department, to list a few, were among the reasons the joint venture was formed.
Central Farmers Cooperative brings to this joint venture local management, expert employees and most of all a strong base of customers.
Central Farmers Cooperative Feed and Petroleum departments are the sole ownership of Central Farmers Cooperative.
Our company divisions include Grain, Agronomy, Feed and Energy. Click on the specific division name to be taken directly to the division page.
